Youth Art Month

February 22 - March 22, 2017

TAMARACK: The Best of West Virginia  is excited to foster young West Virginia Artists with our second annual Youth Art Month ExibitionThis show will be on display in our Youth Art Gallery space, which is located in the Governor Hulett C. Smith theater lobby.

Each March, Youth Art Month is celebrated across the country to emphasize the importance of art education in schools and the field of visual arts at large. We are hosting our second annual Youth Art Month Exhibition to not only give the next generation of Mountain State artists an opportunity to shine, but to also provide a valuable educational experience for young artists to learn the basic practices of entering, preparing, and displaying their artwork for a gallery exhibition.

The Youth Art Month Exhibition will feature works from four grade categories (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12). Pieces selected for inclusion will be chosen by a juror appointed by Tamarack, who will also select a first, second, and third place winner from each grade category. Winners will be announced during a special reception on Sunday, March 5 at 4:00pm.

If you or someone you know is an aspiring artist Grade 12 or below and live in Raleigh, Summers, Fayette, or Nicholas Counties, we encourage you to submit your artwork for this special show! Please see the links below for more information.
